This new meet will be held at Pleasant Prosepct Farm at 4389 Jennings Chapel Rd, Brookeville, MD.

The day will consist of several timber races and pony races.
Ponies will roughly run the following distances:
Leadline: short trot in the stretch (Div I may have a spotter)
Small and Shetland: 1/4 mile
Medium: 3/8 mile
Large: 1/2 mile

Note these races are not on a railed track, this is a point to point, which means that it is more of a cross country race. The pony flat small, medium and large pony flat races count for rider points in the Maryland Governor’s Cup Series. ALL ponies must be at least 5years old (including leadline). Riders are not to have reached their 16th birthday as of January 1. If rider has ridden a horse in a race, they are not eligable for the small pony or Shetland races. Division 1 leadline riders are not to have had their 5th bday as of January 1 and Div 2 leadline riders are not to have had their 7th birthday as of January 1.

For flat races, no assistance allowed after leaving the paddock. Entries should be confident getting to the start on their own, but race staff will help within reason.

I understand that it is my responsibility to be approved by USPR to compete. All pony/rider combinations must be pre-approved before being allowed to run. Additionally, I understand that only the peacock safety stirrups (with rubberband) may be used, no other type of safety stirrup. I also understand that no handlers are allowed on the course except when being released from paddock, or the entry will be disqualified. USPR staff and outriders can help entries where needed. I understand that my entry is required to have a current coggins that will accompany the pony to the races.
