Pony races will run before post time of live Thoroughbred racing. Please check back for changes.

** NOTE One race may run after the first live TB race.

ALL new ponies and new pony and rider combinations must be pre-screened by US Pony Racing.
Anyone wishing to enter a lead line race, please contact usponyracing@gmail.com beforehand to see if your entry qualifies. In order to create a safe and fun event, ALL lead line entries will be provided with a “leader”, as per the request of MD Jockey Club. In the “assisted” division, the entry should provide the spotter, but can not interfere with the speed of the pony.
No stallions or mares over 5 months in foal. Additionally no mares with foals by their side on the property.
No foals, dogs/pets or horses/ponies that are not entered on race day are allowed on race track premises.
USPR and the MJC reserve the right to refuse any entry for any reason.
All riders must wear a current ASTM/SEI or NSA approved helmet, a protective vest, yoke, overgirth, safety stirrups, and signed release.
First time entries pony and or rider must be approved and are required to attend a practice session to make sure entry is suitable. Contact usponyracing@gmail.com for details.
All entries must present a Health Certificate and proof of a negative Coggins test at the stable gate, or they will not be permitted to enter the grounds.

I understand that it is my responsibility to be approved by USPR to compete. All pony/rider combinations must be pre-approved before being allowed to run. I understand that only well-behaved entries capable of pulling up before the turn will be permitted to run at a race track. Additionally, I understand that only the peacock safety stirrups (with rubberband) may be used, no other type of safety stirrup. I understand that there are no additional horses or ponies permitted on the race track grounds that are not running that day and that my pony entry will go to the paddock only accompanied by outriders and no other lead ponies. I also understand that no handlers are allowed on the course except when being released, or the entry will be disqualified. USPR staff and outriders can help entries where needed. I understand that my entry is required to have a current coggins and health certificate and that no foals, dogs or other pets are allowed on the property. I understand that Lead Line entries will be assigned a leader, but may have their own second assistant to help the rider in Division II. Lead Line entries should show control over their own pony and entries should note that this division is for fun and to introduce young riders to riding in front of crowds.
