1st Race: PA Junior Pony Hunt Cup
A Field Master’s chase open to junior riders on ponies. Riders are to not have had their 16th birthday as of the first of the year and are to have not raced in open company (non pony, junior or young rider races). All ponies must be a minimum of 5 years old. Catch weights. Riders are to follow a Field Master over a flagged course not to exceed 2 miles with no more than 12 obstacles none of which are to exceed 2’6”. After the last fence, the Field Master will release the field to race for the finish. Hunting attire or silks. Small, Medium, and Large trophies awarded, standard pony measurements. Race will most likely be divided into two divisions, small/medium and large races, but all sizes will be awarded seperately.

2nd Race: PA Junior Horse Hunt Cup
A Field Master’s chase open to junior riders on horses. Riders are to not have had their 16th birthday as of the first of the year and are to have not raced in open company (non pony, junior or young rider races). All horses must be a minimum of 5 years old. Catch weights. Riders are to follow a Field Master over a flagged course not to exceed 2 miles with no more than 12 obstacles, none of which are to exceed 2’6”. After the last fence, the Field Master will release the field to race for the finish. Hunting Attire or Silks. Thoroughbred and non-Thoroughbred trophies will be awarded.

Entries are subject to the approval of the committee and MUST be pre-approved before being allowed to participate. Please be sure to check with usponyracing@gmail.com and see if you and your mount are qualified to run. All entries must school before the committee if they have not successfully completed the a Field Master’s Chase course previously on the horse/pony they are entered on successfully in the last year. Mandatory course walk 10:00 am on race day.

All entries must have proof of a negative coggins and a signed waiver; wear a current ASTM/SEI approved helmet, an overgirth, yoke (any type of neck strap that is not attached to the saddle), PEACOCK SAFETY STIRRUPS, and a protective vest. All entries must be paid for in advance.

SCHOOLING DATE: 1:00pm Sunday, October 30th, 2016
Location: Merefield Farm (Dixon and Gail Thayer), 1583 West Doe Run Rd, Unionville (or possibly Kennett Sq., GPS may differ)
