Mid-Atlantic Jr Racing Clinic 2/27/22 * US Pony Racing

Junior racing clinic at Merryland Farm in Hydes, MD on Sunday, February 27, 2022 @11am. Riders 21 yo and under are welcome to participate mounted. Auditors welcome. Focus will be on how to safely navigate a pony or junior race. How to enter a race, the rules, what you need, how to saddle your mount, riding in a large group, navigating a race course, riding techniques, etc all will be covered. All participants will have the opportunity to ride Sparky the Equicizer before they take to the track. There will be NO RACING at this clinic. The focus will be on safety. Riders of all levels and ponies of all fitness levels are encouraged to attend. No rider or pony will be pushed beyond their ability if they are not ready. Leadliners are welcome, so long as they have a leader to handle them.

The Trainer, Parent, Rider of this entry agree to abide by U.S. Pony Racing rules and policies. This entry understands that these pony races are meant to be as fun and safe as possible. Good sportsmanship is expected of all parties involved in the races. Any pony, rider, parent, or trainer exhibiting behavior deemed unacceptable by U.S. Pony Racing may be excused from U.S. Pony Racing events. This entry understands that all entries must have a neck strap, protective vest, safety stirrups (peacock variety, other varieties must be approved by USPR), approved helmet, and signed release before being permitted to ride.
